For people who grew up with anime from the 80s and 90s, the reboot of Ranma ½ has no doubt been a much anticipated one. Originally serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday from August 1987 to March 1996, this classic gender-swapping series revolves around teenager Ranma Saotome, who gains the ability to transform into a girl when exposed to cold water after falling into a cursed Chinese spring during a martial arts training journey. Since getting doused in hot water changes him back into a boy, this often results in hilariously awkward situations and misunderstandings, all part of the series’ charm.

After nearly 32 years, Ranma ½ is gracing our screens once more, with most of the voice cast from the original show reprising their roles. To help celebrate the series’ reboot, we’ve compiled some fantastic artwork featuring the eccentric main cast and equally quirky supporting characters. Enjoy!

Typically paired with a blouse worn underneath, jumper skirts are quite a popular choice among fans of lolita fashion. The idea behind these adorable frocks is to exemplify modesty while giving the wearer a classic doll-like appearance. With designs ranging from plain and simple to ornate and frilly, it’s no wonder jumper skirts have captured the hearts of so many for so long.

Serena (from the Pokémon franchise) is certainly all dolled up and ready to paint the town red in her jumper skirt.

Do any of the characters below have you wrapped around their little finger?
