You have probably seen them before, 4-panel comics portraying 4 people looking disappointed at first, and then getting super-enthusiastic over something. On pixiv, this kind of template got the name “gaijin yonkoma” (literally “4-cell foreigners”). The original meme portrays four IGN reporters looking disappointed after the Nintendo conference held at E3 2003, and rejoicing enthusiastically one year later, at E3 2004.
