Splatoon Raiders is the first spin-off of the Splatoon series, launching exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23rd, 2026. Set in the brand-new location of the Spirhalite Islands, the game follows a new protagonist, the Mechanic, on a treasure-hunting adventure through uncharted territory, bringing the beloved Splatoon universe to life in a whole new way.

Players crash-land on the mysterious Spirhalite Islands alongside the swashbuckling musician trio Deep Cut, whose members are Shiver, Frye, and Big Man. Armed with weapons and gadgets, the Mechanic must fend off the ferocious Salmonids that inhabit the islands while exploring unknown terrain in search of treasure.

In what seems to be the blink of an eye, the year is coming to a close. As we look forward to what’s on the horizon, a collective look was taken at all of the best that gaming had to offer this year during the Game Awards 2022 on December 8, 2022.

Not only did we get announcements for upcoming games that are sure to make the nominee list for next year’s event, but we also got to see just how the most popular games of the year stack against each other.

One of the event’s biggest winners was Elden Ring, taking home the coveted Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best RPG.

When it comes to the number of awards won, however, God of War: Ragnarok was certainly no slouch, taking home Best Narrative, Best Score and Music, Best Audio Design, Best Performance, Best Action-Adventure Game, and Innovation in Accessibility.
