Valentine Kiss is a solo debut album by Sayuri Kokusho first released in 1986. In 2004, 18 years later, a popular character named Keigo Atobe from the anime Prince of Tennis sang Valentine Kiss as his character song single. Soon after, the character posed and wore clothing just like the CD cover on Sayuri Kokusho's Valentine Kiss and numerous parodies were inspired by it. Since then, every Valentine's Day have had new additions to the Valentine Kiss parody meme. Even on pixiv, many of these new additions were uploaded! Today s Valentine's Day! It's been six years since Valentine's Day has been on a Sunday, the last time being in year 2010. Ah, it's so nice that Valentine's Day is on a weekend! Maybe it's a perfect day to confess to someone you've been fancying--how many of you are thinking of doing this? In Japan, Valentine's Day is often done with a confession and usually it's just the girls giving the guys chocolate. Outside of Japan, Valentine's Day usually has the guy thinking of something, like flowers and a card, to give to the girl. It's not uncommon to have both give gifts to each other. It's interesting how a single day is so different between countries!
