Mother’s Day is symbolized a red carnation, while Father’s Day by a white rose. Also, there may be an image of Father’s Day being yellow in Japan. Mother’s Day falls on May 8th. It is said that this day first started in America during the Civil War, as daughters lay white carnations for the mothers during the memorial service. Since that event, it has become normal to offer your mother a white carnation in memory of her, but to give a red carnation to express your gratitude and respect if she is still alive, but only the latter practice became known in Japan. In conjunction of Mother’s Day, we have released a special feature that expresses the feelings of gratitude, that we find hard to convey in our daily lives. Enjoy!
