This year really flew by, didn’t it? It’s autumn already! The fall harvest is full of rich and tasty seasonal foods. The fall bounty in Japan includes persimmons, apples, grapes, asian pears, chestnuts, sweet potatoes, and mushrooms! Pumpkins are another favorite, but don’t expect pumpkin pie - puddings and tarts are much more common. Just thinking about all the scrumptious food makes you hungry, doesn't it?

How do you usually eat your corn? They are always delicious, whether you bake it, boil it or cook it into a hot soup. Grilled corn is a dish that you’re likely to find at fairs and barbecues. Biting into it is a lot of fun, but so is bringing it home to take out all the kernels with a spoon. The texture of this sweet grain feels like many bubbles popping in your mouth as you eat it, so the experience is a lot of fun no matter how you decide to serve it. Corn boiling slowly in a large pot is one of the scenes that make Japanese people think about summertime. Today, just before summer ends, we collected a series of illustrations that will literally make you crave for a corn! Enjoy!

Moreover, as watermelon is high in nutritional value, it has been found effective in treating cases of heat stroke. Recently, the watermelon has also been gaining attention as a raw material for sculpting, as well as an ingredient in several methods of dieting. One bag is about a few 10s of yens at times and the calories are low... yet there's enough volume to stay full. It's such a good thing to eat when you're low on money!
