From afar, it can even look like Mother Nature dyed the mountains a new color, and the effect can be breathtaking. While fall foliage viewing, known as momijigari (紅葉狩り, lit. “hunting for autumn leaves”) in Japanese, is an excellent way to admire the changing leaves, you can also appreciate their transient beauty by feeling the crunch and rustle of them underfoot during your daily stroll or commute.

Enjoy the illustrations below, which will surely make you fall in love with autumn!

Moon viewing isn’t complete without a subset of grass, “Japanese silver grass” surrounding the viewer. In the fall, silver grass changes into crisp golden tones and the gentle swaying of the plant fills one with nostalgia. In days past, it was used to thatch roofs and to create landscape paintings, among other things which can tell us that silver grass has been an important part of society. When the time for the autumn harvest had ended, silver grass was used as a prayer offering for another abundance healthy crops for the following year. It is now used more scarcely, though when the flicker of the moon’s ray’s bounces off of a piece of silver grass in a passerby’s view, there is no doubt that they’ll be overcome with a sudden urge to snack on dumplings while gazing up at the moon.

Today, illustrations depicting autumn landscapes with “silver grass” have been collected. Enjoy!

It’s already approaching the end of summer and is time for the atmosphere of fall to take over. The fresh and green leaves are gradually shedding their color. The ginkgo color is a symbol of fall isn’t it? It’s a pleasant sensation as the cool autumn air hits your skin while walking along the row of ginkgo-lined trees. The sight of the fallen leaves and the unavoidable scent of them as ginkgo leaves crunch under your feet is unmistakably familiar.
Please enjoy the illustrations of ginkgo presented today!

It's a place that seems almost off limits to humans... the forest!
Densely packed with thick trees and covered in the shade of their leaves, it's almost like you've entered into another world... I actually get a lot of memories of my youth.
They've got a real fantastic element about them and change with the seasons... they're able to express many things visually.
During the spring, they're full of warm and nice days... during the summer they are coverd in a nice vibrant green... and on fall days they're full of red leaves... oh yes, the winter! It's quiet, but taking in a breath of fresh air... it feels great... or scary? Anyway, they've got a lot of charm!
Today's Spotlight is all about forests... check them out!
