In fan works, it’s fairly common for creators to try to imagine how things might have been if certain events hadn’t happened, and there’s no shortage of illustrations inspired by these sorts of what-ifs on pixiv too. They often get tagged with どうしてこうならなかった (doushite kou naranakatta, translated as “how it should have ended” on pixiv).

Shinji (from Evangelion) having a normal relationship with his father would probably mean the series’ events had never happened. And Kyujuro (from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) eating his mother's homecooked food is just…!
