Have you heard the term “hair intake”? It refers to tufts of hair that hang over the bangs, forming a layer of their own. It’s a look used time and time again for anime and manga characters so you’ve almost certainly seen a few examples. It not only adds an extra bit of volume to the hair, but it also makes the face appear smaller and cuter.

Sakura Kinomoto (from the Cardcaptor Sakura franchise) is one of the most well-known examples of characters with this hairstyle.
