                                            <p>Morning glories are a beautiful variety of flower known for their round silhouettes and cool colors. Though they can be found in other countries around the world, they're particularly popular in Japan and have been for centuries. So much so that there are examples of morning glory paintings going all the way back to the Edo period. </p><p>Takashi Natsume (from <i>Natsume’s Book of Friends</i>) seems to be channeling his ancestors as he skillfully strikes a pose while surrounded by morning glories.  </p><p>Has the beauty of the illustrations below dawned on you?</p><p></p>
