In what seems to be the blink of an eye, the year is coming to a close. As we look forward to what’s on the horizon, a collective look was taken at all of the best that gaming had to offer this year during the Game Awards 2022 on December 8, 2022.

Not only did we get announcements for upcoming games that are sure to make the nominee list for next year’s event, but we also got to see just how the most popular games of the year stack against each other.

One of the event’s biggest winners was Elden Ring, taking home the coveted Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best RPG.

When it comes to the number of awards won, however, God of War: Ragnarok was certainly no slouch, taking home Best Narrative, Best Score and Music, Best Audio Design, Best Performance, Best Action-Adventure Game, and Innovation in Accessibility.

From side-scrollers to puzzles and beyond, Kirby has made a significant mark on the world of gaming. His upcoming release, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, is slated to drop on March 25th, 2022. It’s already creating quite a buzz among hardcore fans and newbies alike.

Kirby’s Dream Land, released by Nintendo on April 27th, 1992, is celebrating its 25th anniversary in the year 2017! This series is beloved by many generations from its very release on the Gameboy system to the present day, and keeps on surprising us even now with plans of a new game release as well as a collaboration cafe. Everyone surely has their own experience of advancing through the game by sucking up enemies and copying their unique abilities. The charm of this title extends not only to Kirby itself, but also to other super popular characters such as King Dedede, Meta Knight and Waddle Dee.
