Lion dances are a staple of any celebratory event in East Asia, with traditions extending from Indonesia to Korea. You can spot them at festivals and Lunar New Year celebrations. They typically consist of a person or team wearing a costume modeled after a great beast. The performers manipulate the costume so that it appears to dance in time with musical accompaniment.
