Nintama Rantaro: Dokutake Ninja-tai Saikyо̄ no Gunshi (Nintama Rantaro the Movie: The Dokutake Ninja Team’s Strongest Strategist), the first anime film in the Nintama Rantaro anime franchise in 13 years, hits theaters on December 20th, 2024!
An anime adaptation of Sōbe Amako’s comedy manga Rakudai Ninja Rantaro, Nintama Rantaro premiered on April 10th, 1993, and has been broadcast ever since on NHK, making it the network’s longest-running anime.
The franchise’s latest movie is based on Kazuhisa Sakaguchi’s 2013 novel Rakudai Ninja Rantaro: Dokutake Ninja-tai Saikyо̄ no Gunshi (illustrations and original concept by Sōbe Amako), which revolves around First Year Ha Class’s teacher Hansuke Doi’s sudden disappearance. In order to save their beloved teacher, Rantaro and his fellow students at the ninjutsu academy must put their heads together to defeat their enemies, as well as a mysterious figure, Tenki, with a troubling past.
