Shiny sweetness ♡ Cherries
Cherries are amazingly shiny, incredibly sweet fruits that grow on the tip of thin green stems. It is said that their Japanese name, sakuranbo, derives from the expression sakura no bo, literally "a cherry blossom's son". Have you ever watched cherry blossoms in full bloom, just to ask yourself how sweet those cherries will be a couple months from then? Unfortunately, it looks like Yoshino cherry trees (the most common kind in Japan) do not produce edible cherries.
Today we collected a series of illustrations portraying cherries, little gems that start growing right after those pretty cherry blossoms fall. Enjoy!
