I vow to love you-- Brides
Dressed in a white dress or a white kimono, a bride is about to step her feet into a new life. Her pure white attire and the sheer veil covering her face are proof of her purity. A bride is a woman looking the most beautiful in her entire life--that’s what many people say about brides and indeed, they look a thousand times more dazzling and beautiful than they do in their usual outfits. There are various theories about the origin of the Japanese word “hanayome” (bride). According to one of such theories, the word came about through a change in the word “hanayaka” (gorgeous; glorious) and that’s how people began using the word “hanayome” to refer to women who have wedding ceremonies.
Today we have gathered several illustrations depicting beautiful brides blossoming in their full glory. Enjoy!
