A sparkle that permeates. Shirabe's fascinating depiction of light density
Normally, whatever part that gets hit by direct sunlight appears to be the most highlighted part. Shirabe (調), however, depicts light in such an unusual way that results in the light appearing as if it’s being absorbed by the very part that it’s supposed to hit, leaving us with the impression that the same part is the source of light instead.
The bizarre balance between light and shadow creates a peculiar sort of depth which, in turn, makes the illustrated characters and objects fascinating.
This time we’re featuring illustrations that demonstrate impressive depictions of light and darkness by Shirabe. Enjoy!
