A villain, with their will of iron and reasons to keep fighting, is one of the most important characters that spin a story. Their dark past and painful memories put them on a path that goes against that of the hero, and cause your heart to ache for them. Although they're sometimes referred to as an "antagonist", they have their own reasons and definition of justice that force them to be hostile toward the hero.
