Drawings of Koinobori - Climbing Through the Sky!
In Japan, May 5th is a national holiday known as “Children’s Day”. Koinobori (literally carp streamers; 鯉のぼり) are a kind of windsock that are hung up to celebrate the health and growth of children. Mochi is also eaten. As you look upon each of the colorful carp streamers that flutter in the sky, you can almost feel the wish for children to grow up strong.
