Though typically associated with wedding dresses, veils can symbolize different things for many people across the globe. For some, the veil is worn by those considered to be sacred or pure. For others, they can be part of cultural attire that holds special significance or history. In the early 20th century, donning a black veil represented mourning the loss of a loved one.
