                                            <p>Spoiler warning: This feature contains spoilers about the story and characters from the Demon Slayer franchise.</p><p><br /></p><p><i>Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle Arc Part 1: Akaza Returns</i> premiered in Japan on July 18th, 2025, and has already become a massive box office hit. Earning over 10 billion yen in just eight days, it has become the fastest-grossing film in Japanese cinema history.</p><p><br /></p><p>Based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s hit manga<i> Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba</i>, the story follows Tanjiro Kamado as he battles demons in Taisho-era Japan, seeking a cure to turn his demonized sister Nezuko back into a human.</p><p><br /></p><p>This new film continues the anime series that began in 2019, and throws Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps into a fierce showdown within the demons’ stronghold, the Infinity Castle. At the heart of the action is Akaza, the fearsome Upper Rank Three of the Twelve Kizuki, serving under the demon lord Muzan Kibutsuji. Known for delivering a fatal blow to Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku in the Mugen Train Arc, Akaza returns as Tanjiro’s toughest rival yet and one of the most iconic foes in the series.</p><p><br /></p><p>In this feature, we spotlight fan art of Akaza, including his tragic past and fearsome present.
