Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle Arc Part 1: Akaza Returns premiered in Japan on July 18th, 2025, and has already become a massive box office hit. Earning over 10 billion yen in just eight days, it has become the fastest-grossing film in Japanese cinema history.

Based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s hit manga Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, the story follows Tanjiro Kamado as he battles demons in Taisho-era Japan, seeking a cure to turn his demonized sister Nezuko back into a human.

This new film continues the anime series that began in 2019, and throws Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps into a fierce showdown within the demons’ stronghold, the Infinity Castle. At the heart of the action is Akaza, the fearsome Upper Rank Three of the Twelve Kizuki, serving under the demon lord Muzan Kibutsuji. Known for delivering a fatal blow to Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku in the Mugen Train Arc, Akaza returns as Tanjiro’s toughest rival yet and one of the most iconic foes in the series.

The latest arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba drew to a close on February 13th, 2022. Fans were glued to their seats as Tanjiro and his comrades faced off in a fierce battle against Upper Rank Six demons Gyutaro and his sister Daki. 

The bond between the Shabana siblings, as they're sometimes called, moved the hearts of many viewers despite their status as enemies.

The second season of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime will start airing in Japan on December 5th, beginning from the happenings of the Entertainment District Arc. This anime was announced on February 14th, 2021, after the huge success of the Mugen Train film adaptation. The anime will pick up right where the film left off, and the fandom is eager to see Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke fighting alongside each other once again. Fans will finally be able to see the Hashira Tengen Uzui in action, fighting some of the Twelve Kizuki alongside his three wives Suma, Makio, and Hinatsuru.

This character, who will self-proclaim himself a "god" to Tanjiro and his party, is mostly known for his eccentricity and "flamboyant" style. While the fans are completely in love with him, a lot of people are also curious to know more about the mysterious demon Daki.

The new season for the wildly-popular anime adaptation of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is being released in 2021! The movie sequel of the original anime, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, earned 37.4 billion JPY (approx. 374 million USD) at the box office. Tanjiro Kamado is the protagonist of the show and enters the red light district in the new arc, the Entertainment District Arc.

This marks the debut of the super flashy demon slayer, Tengen Uzui. He is a swordsman and the Sound Hashira. Many fans love this character, so it’s quite the topic at the moment.

Immediately following the anime sequel announcement, he surged to the top 10 most popular ranking results among women.
