Released in September 2025 by Konami, SILENT HILL f is the latest entry in the beloved horror series and the first to take place in Japan.

The story begins in the 1960s in a seemingly peaceful village, the countryside town of Ebisugaoka. But one day, a thick fog descends, and eerie red flora begins to overtake the town, twisting it into something grotesque.

The game explores madness born from an isolated society steeped in ancient traditions, slowly and silently rotting the town from within. Its world is as beautiful as it is terrifying, luring players into its haunting depths.

The protagonist, Hinako Shimizu, fights to survive in this nightmare, wielding weapons like metal pipes, naginata spears, and hammers against grotesque, otherworldly creatures.

This iconic game produced by multi-media artist OMOCAT’s indie game studio is a unique game in which your choices change the course of the story as you navigate through two different locations, Headspace and Faraway Town.

With Halloween having just come and gone, many areas across the world are still feeling the tingle of the spooky season, that time of year when the slight chill in the air may not be coming from the autumn breezes. One fun way to give yourself chills is to spend some time playing a good and scary horror game filled with characters that are the stuff of nightmares.

Many staples of the horror game genre released new titles recently, including The Evil Within and Resident Evil, which debuted Resident Evil Village on October 28, 2022, along with the Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, which includes additional content featuring Ethan Winters' daughter, Rosemary!

Then, of course, there were hit newcomers like Poppy Playtime, which saw a huge popularity surge not long after its release.

While not technically a horror game, Ghostwire: Tokyo features some characters that will send shivers down your spine for sure. And even though it was released in 2016, Dead By Daylight still has legions of devoted fans.

Have you heard of the webcomic-based psychological horror game Omori? It began development in 2013 but was finally released roughly six years later on December 25, 2020.

The story follows a reclusive shut-in named Omori who has lived in Whitespace, an empty white void, for as long as he can remember. After remembering his precious friends, Omori sets off on a journey to a vibrant and colorful psychological realm to unlock his suppressed memories and the secrets his world holds. The game’s overall rounded and cute design combined with its anguish-filled imagery and spine-chilling psychological horror elements have made it a big hit on the Steam gaming platform.

The eerie nature of this RPG has generated hardcore fans all over the world, and that number is sure to increase with Omori's upcoming spring release for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 consoles.

Doki Doki Literature Club! (occasionally abbreviated DDLC) is a visual novel developed by the American company, Studio Salvato. While the game was originally released on September 22nd, 2017, the console port titled Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! was released on June 30th, 2021. It features Ethan Winters, who was living peacefully with his wife Mia and young daughter Rosemary. His family is attacked, throwing his life back into chaos. To save his daughter, Ethan must battle creatures in a mysteriously deserted village…

There are quite a lot of appealing characters in this game, Mother Miranda and her four lords among them. One of these lords, Lady Dimitrescu, went viral and is the subject of many fan art works.
