Alphonse Mucha was a Czech artist who lived in Paris during the Art Nouveau period (1883–1914). He was suddenly thrust into the limelight when he was commissioned for a poster, and it became an overnight sensation.

Subdued pastels, bold lines, and floral-based background motifs are characteristic of this style. He took much of his initial influence from Japanese ukiyo-e prints, so it’s no wonder his style is popular on pixiv.
