Happy Pub Day to Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, the latest installment in Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Like a Dragon series!

The spin-off, which was released on February 21st, 2025, takes place six months after the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (2024) and focuses on series mainstay Goro “The Mad Dog of Shimano” Majima as the sole playable character. Through unknown circumstances, Majima finds himself stranded on an island with no memories of his past life. After being saved by a boy named Noah Rich, he becomes the captain of a new pirate crew and sets out on a journey in search of a hidden treasure and his lost memories.

Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is the first Like a Dragon series to feature open-sea exploration and ship combat. In addition to regular combat, players can assemble their own pirate crew and use their customizable ship, the Goromaru, to explore four different locales, namely Rich Island, Madlantis, Nele Island, and Honolulu. Players can also engage in combat with enemy pirate ships in real-time, boarding them to battle the crew and defeat the ship’s captain.

Another exciting addition to the game is Sea Dog, a new battle style that allows Majima to wield dual cutlasses and other buccaneer gear. Combined with his signature Mad Dog style, players can kick, pummel, hack, and slash their way through the filthy bilge rats standing in their way!
