Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage!, also known as Project Sekai or Proseka in Japan, is a smash-hit mobile game developed by Colorful Palette and published by Sega. Featuring many iconic Vocaloid songs, the game takes you on a melodious journey through multiple mysterious worlds called “Sekai,” which are created from a person’s “true feelings.” These worlds are as diverse and innumerable as human emotions, their forms in a constant state of flux depending on what the person is feeling. To enter Sekai, one must find and play “Untitled,” an empty song lacking a melody and lyrics. With the help of Virtual Singers such as Hatsune Miku, the cast of original characters embark on a journey to discover their “true feelings.”
One unit featured in the game is Nightcord at 25:00. The group consists of composer Kanade Yoisaki, lyricist and arranger Mafuyu Asahina, illustrator Ena Shinonome, and video producer Mizuki Akiyama.
At first, they communicated through a voice chat program called Nightcord, allowing them to make music together without ever sharing their real names or faces. However, one day, Mafuyu Asahina suddenly cut off all contact, prompting the remaining three members to meet in person for the first time. As they spend more time together, they come to understand each other’s struggles, including family conflicts and personal insecurities. They support one another while searching for answers and a place where they truly belong.
