Cute Waterside Carnivores, Otters♡

Otters are simply adorable with their round head and eyes, and their little ears. Contrary to their sweet appearance, did you know that they are a carnivore belonging to the weasel family? It's said that there are 12 subfamilies, but 5 of them are endangered species. There used to be otters once inhabiting Japan, which is why they are the official animal symbol of Ehime prefecture. Unfortunately, without any sighting confirmation of them sine 1979, the Japanese otter was declared an extinct species in 2012. There are however a few facilities in the country where you can visit these precious creatures. How about meeting some happy otters during the summer vacation?
