Today is “Have a Nice Egg” Day!
November 5th is known as “Have a nice egg” day (ii tamago no hi). The “Japan Poultry Association”, which reviews the quality of eggs, established this day in order to promote eating habits that are “tastier, healthier, and richer”. Because eggs are high in nutrients and can be easily prepared, they are a must-have ingredient in every kitchens. Eggs are the main ingredient of many Japanese foods, such as Tamagokakegohan (Rice mixed with raw eggs), Tsukimi-udon (noodle soup with poached eggs) etc. It’s evident that eggs play a big role in regards to the expansion of Japan’s food culture.
