Tanabata is a Japanese summer festival when traditionally you write your wishes down on strips of paper and hang them on bamboo branches. These colorful ornaments add color to the city, making people forget about the July heat! Hang your wishes and look at the sky: maybe you will be able to witness the long-awaited encounter between the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi. Looking at the sky is such a great part of Tanabata that many people are quite concerned about the weather forecasts!
Today we feature a number of illustrations depicting Tanabata, the most romantic event of Summer. Enjoy!
