It’s fairly rare to spot a guy with long braided hair in modern times. Some ethnic groups certainly do encourage plaits among men, but it’s usually for cultural identity or practicality purposes.

In character design, decorative braids can give a bit of a roguish appeal to a guy, especially when paired with a fantasy setting. Among the most iconic are Edward Elric and Thor (not pictured), but there are plenty of other instances.
