Drawings of Tanabata - The Beautiful Heavens Above
The Japanese festival Tanabata, also called the Star Festival, falls on July 7th each year. The folktale usually features two lovers (Orihime and Hikoboshi) who can only meet on this day, once a year. The festival is celebrated by people who write down their wishes on colored strips of paper and then hang them on bamboo trees.
