Summer in Japan is synonymous with watermelons. There’s even a game called Suika-wari (スイカ割り), which involves cracking a watermelon open like a piñata. The player is blindfolded and other players must verbally guide them to the delicious treat. That said, most people prefer to cut the watermelons open and eat them normally.
