Poking Out From Underneath the Sleeve: Super Adorably Long Sleeves on Girls
Uh oh, when sleeves are too long that they cover half the hand... or even hide the whole hand... isn't it kinda cute? It's called Moesode or Sodeamari in Japanese. Apparently it was started in the Heian period and a trademark by a famous female novelist, Sei Shōnagon, who wore huge kimono with giant sleeves, making her look like a child wearing adult clothes.
