Fantasy author George R.R. Martin, perhaps best known for the A Song of Fire and Ice series which spawned the HBO live action adaptation Game of Thrones, played a role in the game’s creation, which certainly helped boost its popularity.

Players take on the role of the Tarnished and go on a journey to become an Elden Lord, defeating enemies and interacting with myriad characters as they collect shards of the Elden Ring.
