Fan Art of Genshin Impact Characters Found in Liyue - Drawings That Have Us Over The Moon
The world of Genshin Impact, miHoYo’s expansive action RPG has had quite an impact on fans the world over. With so much ground to cover, there’s no way we could get all of the information into just one article. Be sure to keep up to date on our series of “Impact Info” to stay in the know. Today, we’ll be looking at Liyue, one of the seven regions of Teyvat, and letting you in on a few of its secrets.
Liyue is a mountainous harbor region that worships Morax, the Geoarchon. The most prosperous of all the seven regions, Liyue is home to Teyvat’s largest market harbor, an impressive mountain range that acts as a natural shield against any from the west who would dare try to invade, and a host of other beautiful natural landmarks that make exploring the region worthwhile.
In many respects, Liyue serves as a foil to the previous region of Mondstadt. Where Mondstandt is ruled by a free-spirited Archon, Morax, or Rex Lapis as he’s also known, is certainly more rigid, being the God of Contracts, Commerce, and War. Morax is possibly the oldest of the Archons at over 6,000 years old.
Liyue’s entire geographical makeup was created by Morax’s very hands, and when he’s not fiercely protecting those devoted to him, he offers his wisdom on matters of finance and commerce. As a bit of further trivia, the name of the currency used throughout Teyvat, Mora, takes its name from the Geo Archon himself.
But there’s more to Liyue than its remarkable landscape; the characters you’ll encounter while you’re there are just as remarkable.
Xiao, an Anemo-powered polearm specialist who is the last surviving member of the five foremost Yaksha warriors
Beidou, a fearless Claymore user who harnesses the power of Electro and serves as captain of The Crux, one of Liyue's most well-known fleets
Ningguang, who despite being a Catalyst user who specializes in the Geo Element, owns the Floating Jade Chamber seen in the skies of Liyue
Mao Xiangling, a Geo Polearm specialist who's recently become the Head Chef of the Wanmin Restaurant that she runs along with her father
Xingqiu, a Hydro-wielding Sword user who's also the second son of the Feiyun Commerce Guild's Guild Manager
Chongyun, a Claymore user who specializes in the Cryo Element and serves as a highly effective exorcist thanks to his natural abundance of yang (positive) energy
Qiqi, a resurrected zombie that harnesses the power of Cryo and is handy with a Sword
Then there’s Keqing, an Electro-powered sword-wielding member of the Liyue Qixing, Liyue’s governing body
