Fan Art of Characters from Genshin Impact’s Sumeru Region - Intellect That Grows and Grows
The world of Genshin Impact, miHoYo’s action RPG that has made quite an impact on fans the world over, is exceedingly vast. So much so that we couldn’t fit in all there is to know about the many distinct nations and their people. Today, we’ll continue our series on the seven worlds of Teyvat and let you in on a few of their secrets.
Among the many things the Traveler will encounter while they journey through the diverse landscape of Sumeru, one of great importance is the Sumeru Akademiya, which is not only the region’s governing body but also serves as the Teyvat’s most prestigious educational institution. Not only are students from across the seven nations accepted into the Akademiya, but traveling scholars known as Driyosh are sent far and wide in search of materials and research.
This institution falls under the jurisdiction of none other than the Dendro Archon herself, Lesser Lord Kusanali, or, as she’s sometimes known, Buer. Players may also be acquainted with her as Nahida, the living vessel that houses her spirit. Despite being the Archon for her nation, Lesser Lord Kusanali has little power over how her nation is run due to her being isolated for 500 years since birth, just after the Great Cataclysm. Because of this, there are few who know much about her, even within her home territory.
As is to be expected from the Land of Wisdom, there’s much for the Traveler to learn and discover on their journey, and this includes encountering a varied group of playable characters.
Nahida, the Catalyst-wielding vessel of the Dendro Archon Lesser Lord Kusanali who has much to learn about her own past and place within her nation.
Layla, a chronically sleep-deprived Cryo-powered Sword-user who specializes in Theoretical Astrology in the Rtawahist Darshan, one of Sumeru Akademiya’s six main schools.
The Wanderer, a nameless and nomadic Anemo character whose true identity is a mystery.
Faruzan, a renowned professor of the Sumeru Akademiya who harnesses the power of Anemo with her trusty Bow.
Alhaitham, a Dendro Sword user who serves as the Akademiya’s Scribe and is tasked with documenting all findings and drafting ordinances.
Dehya, a wild and passionate warrior who is as fierce as the Pyro she channels through her Claymore.
Players can also look forward to meeting Kaveh, an honor student of the Kshahrewar Darshan who is forced to become roommates with Alhaitham, with whom he constantly bickers.
Have any of these bright characters enlightened you in any way?
