Puella Magi Madoka Magica (commonly known as Madoka Magica) is an original anime series created by Magica Quartet, a collective pen name for Akiyuki Shinbo, Gen Urobuchi, Ume Aoki, and the animation studio Shaft.

At the center of the story is Madoka Kaname, an ordinary middle schooler whose life takes an extraordinary turn when she meets Homura Akemi—a mysterious transfer student who had previously appeared in her dream.

The TV series, which was broadcast in 2011, gained attention for its charming character designs and intriguing magical girl narrative, punctuated by darker, heavy-hitting moments that explored the grim realities these characters face.

Given the show's widespread popularity, it's no surprise that it spawned several films. In 2012, audiences were treated to two compilation movies, Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Beginnings and Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Eternal, followed by an entirely new story, Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rebellion, in 2013.
