Since her debut in 2007, virtual idol Hatsune Miku has been captivating the hearts of people worldwide with her distinct singing voice. In celebration of the songstress, pixiv is flooded with fan art of Miku each year on March 9th, as the numbers three and nine can be pronounced as “mi” and “ku,” respectively, in Japanese. March 9th is also unofficially known as Thank You Day in Japan—a play on the words “thank you” and “san (three)” “kyu (nine),” an alternative way to pronounce the numbers—what better day than today to show your gratitude for the iconic singer?
