When you see a character wearing a cape in anime or manga, they’re usually one of four things: a mage, an adventurer, a villain... or they’re a little chuuni (aka suffering from "middle school second-year syndrome"). Regardless of their reasons for wearing a cloak or cape, there’s something undeniably dramatic about the way they flap in the wind, and depending on how the character carries themself, the effect can be effortlessly cool or comedic.
