Fans of Detective Conan (known as Case Closed in some regions), have you read the 52nd Issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday, published on November 20th, 2024? This issue contains a memorable episode revolving around the Keisatsu Gakkou-gumi (警察学校組, lit. “police academy crew”), the main characters of the Detective Conan Police Academy Arc - Wild Police Story. Additionally, this episode is making waves on the internet due to it picking up where that one scene from the movie Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween left off. (If you’ve watched the film, you probably know which one we’re talking about!)

In the 2022 film Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween, viewers are treated to heartwarming flashbacks of the police academy crew, comprised of Rei Furuya, the serious straight-A student; Hiromitsu Morofushi, a man with a strong sense of justice and previous trauma involving an accident with his parents; Jinpei Matsuda, an outrageous and uncooperative man with a high level of expertise; Kenji Hagiwara, a man with great insight and communication skills who’s terrible with women; and Wataru Date, a natural leader who’s been influenced by his father’s resignation from the force. Unfortunately, only Rei Furuya will be left alive seven years after their graduation. Regardless, these four men continue to live on in the hearts of Rei, his fellow police officers, and many adoring fans.

Slam Dunk is hailed as one of the titans in the world of sports-based manga. Since its Japanese debut in October 1990, this powerhouse manga has gone on to spawn an anime series and several films, the most recent of which, The First Slam Dunk, was at the top of Japan's box office in December 2022.

The main story follows the ups and downs of Shohoku High School’s basketball team as they work to rise through the ranks and become the best team in the nation.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0: the Movie hits Japanese theaters on December 24th, 2021.

The story follows Yuta Okkotsu, a high-school student who recently lost his childhood friend, Rika Orimoto, and is haunted by her curse. When he joins the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, he meets students with talents similar to his, and starts getting familiar with sorcery. Needless to say, this story is a prequel to the well-known Jujutsu Kaisen.

Satoru Gojo, Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Panda are just a few of the characters from the main story that we get to see in this movie. Will we get to find out some new interesting details to their stories?

On August 24th, 2021, the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home dropped on YouTube. This is the third installment in the Spider-Man movies that take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In addition to the main cast of the MCU films, the trailer made it clear Doctor Strange would be making an appearance. He mentioned the "multiverse", a hypothetical group of multiple universes, and how little we know about it... With the additional appearances of Doctor Octopus from the original Spider-Man movies and Electro, from the Amazing Spider-Man 2, this film is sure to have some intriguing twists!

The first installment of the long-awaited spinoff film Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash hit theaters in Japan on June 11th, 2021.

The protagonist is Hathaway Noa. He’s secretly the leader of the infamous anti-Federation government organization, Mafty, and goes by the alias Mafty Navue Erin. After helping thwart a hijacking done by Mafty impersonators, Hathaway meets the lovely Gigi Andalucia… who knows his secret?!

Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time hit Japanese theaters on March 8th, 2021, as the fourth and final chapter of the Rebuild of Evangelion series. The characters of the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion, which first aired in 1995, and the way they end up relating to one another has been heavily revisited in this movie series. The director, Hideaki Anno, has always stated that he meant these movies to serve as a reinterpretation of the original story, as he wishes it could have been in its first run, with the help of the latest animation technologies. This concluding chapter surprised the audience as it answers many questions to which the anime series fans would never expect Anno to give such a clear answer.

It's a Chinese anime about a cat Youkai looking for a new place to live in after humans destroyed his home. In his journey, he will encounter many friends such as Youkai and humans. The anime was released in 2011 and got a lot of attention for its high quality; in September 2019 it made its way to Japan with an animated movie and it's been very popular ever since.

── The “Rebuild of Evangelion” series is finally at an end.

On July 6th, 2019, the first 10 minutes of the film (AVANT 1, 0706 version) premiered at Japan Expo in Paris. It was packed with unanswered questions.

We’ve all been looking forward to this film from the day it was announced through until the day it’ll be released to the public. The director of the film, Hideaki Anno, and the vocal talent of Megumi Ogata (playing the protagonist, Shinji) are sure to deliver in this final episode of the series. The closure of the series brings complicated feelings to those on the project, with Director Anno making a public video message and Ogata stating, “I wanted to finish this series before I die and now it’s really going to end at last.”

The final setting for Evangelion is, surprisingly, in Paris. Lucky fans who viewed those 10 minutes cheered with joy at each twist, from never-before-seen Angels to the pilot Mari Illustrious Makinami and even the streets of Paris like those from Tokyo-3. The content was a hot topic online. Many fans were elated that Paris was the setting. On the other hand though, many didn’t want the Eiffel Tower to be destroyed… And just how is the latest film connected to the previous one?
