Fan Art of Milky☆Subway: The Galactic Limited Express - All Aboard!
Milky☆Subway: The Galactic Limited Express, which began airing in July 2025, is the sequel to director Yohei Kameyama’s independently produced anime Milky☆Highway (released in 2022). With Kameyama once again pulling triple duty as director, scriptwriter, and character designer, the series stands out for its distinctive visual style, laid-back character banter, and wildly unpredictable sci-fi storytelling—all packed into short episodes of about three and a half minutes. This unexpected hit quickly garnered a huge fanbase.
The story kicks off when super human Chiharu and cyborg Makina are arrested for violating the Galactic Road Traffic Law. They’re soon joined by fellow super humans Akane and Kanata, as well as cyborgs Kurt and Max, an eccentric cast gathered under the supervision of police officer Ryoko. As part of their community service, they are tasked with cleaning an interplanetary train known as the Milky☆Subway. But when the train suddenly goes out of control mid-job, they find themselves swept up in a major incident far beyond anything they imagined.
On February 6th, 2026, the theatrical film Galaxy Express Milky☆Subway The Movie: Local Train to the Theater will hit cinemas in Japan. This film features a re-edited compilation of the series along with brand-new scenes, offering an even more powerful way to experience the charm of Milky☆Subway on the big screen.
