Fan Art of the Tohoku Zunko & Zundamon Project

The Tohoku Zunko & Zundamon Project, known for characters like Tohoku Zunko, Zundamon, and more, celebrated its 15th anniversary on October 27th, 2026. Created to support Japan’s northern Tohoku region, the project has allowed local businesses to use its characters commercially for free and actively welcomes fan creations. On pixiv, you’ll find plenty of fan art brimming with love for its cast.

Among the many distinctive characters representing various places in Japan, Tohoku Zunko and Zundamon are inspired by zunda mochi, rice cakes topped with sweet edamame paste, a local delicacy from the Tohoku region. Tohoku Zunko sports a traditional Japanese-style outfit, and Zundamon is known for her edamame-shaped hair.

Join the anniversary celebration with this collection of fan art featuring the characters of the Tohoku Zunko & Zundamon Project.
