Kimono And White Japanese Apron Combination!
Jokyu are Japanese cafe waitresses, and they are often portrayed wearing colorful kimono and a white Japanese apron. They made their appearance during the Meiji era (1868~1912), and they are considered the pioneers of the “working women” category. During modern times, since the genre of the cafes in Japan changed quite a lot, the jokyu figure started to disappear, although this cute retro style is still popular.
Today we collected a series of illustrations portraying jokyu, neat and fashionable working women. Enjoy!
