Since the invention of the telephone in 1876 by Alexander Graham Bell, a whole range of inventions that continue to make our lives more convenient have sprung up. From the rotary-dial telephone where you had to spin the dial around, to the push-button phone, and the compact mobile phones that can access the internet, life just keeps getting more and more convenient. Just having one house phone used to be the norm, but such house phones are now considered retro in a generation of mobile phones. You may feel a sense of nostalgia thinking about how you used to get scolded by family members for hogging the phone, or waiting in front of the phone for your friends to call.
