Fragile, Yet So Beautiful. Girls & Ruins
Abandoned buildings end up being swallowed by the unstoppable power of nature, little by little. Ruins evoke a sense of fragility and impermanence that is both fascinating and scary. In Japan, there’s a tag called “haikyo joshi”, which literally means “ruin girl(s)” and is used to indicate this particular combination. The contrast between beautiful girls and decadent sceneries is indeed something beautiful.
Today we collected a series of illustrations featuring a combination of apocalyptic sceneries and graceful ladies. Enjoy!
