There are various types to choose from, from slow cookers, to kimchi hot pots, fish sauce pots, Motsu pot, cat-pot(?)...so it’s okay to pick a hot-pot meal for every evening during winter. Since the hot-pot is served in closed table, it’s great symbolism for a warm knit of friends. A cold winter day surrounded by your closest familiars is more delicious than anything else.
