The contrast between the absence of men and the thriving of nature makes ruins beautiful and romantic places. Realizing how something made by man collapsed and is now unrecognizable conveys also a feeling of nostalgia and melancholy at the thought that one day the human kind will decline and that only the silence of eternity will remain.
