Question marks are often used when you're in doubt or when you want to ask someone something. In reality, they obviously don't really appear above your head, but this mark has been used in comics since ancient times. When accompanied with vacant faces and blank expressions, the result can be unbelievably cute! Don't stare at these characters too much, though, they might get angry at you.
