Specimens are a collection of biological and mineral materials which have been preserved for research. In addition to beautiful butterflies organized into a picture frame, some examples might be stuffed animals, organisms drowned in formalin or even pressed flowers. The idea of preserving something that was once alive might creep some people out, but these figures are also possessed with an alluring beauty that begs our attention.
