Oni refers to demons that often appear in Japanese folklore. They are often described as beings with horns on their heads and a huge metal rod in their hands. In some parts of Japan, they are considered as deities. According to one theory, the name "Oni" is derived from the word "hidden" (Onu), which basically refers to things that are not present in the world. Terrible and powerful, scary yet beautiful...
