Candy apples (or "candied apples" in some areas) are a popular fall festival food, even in Japan. If you’re unfamiliar, they’re essentially apples dipped in a sugar coating and served on a stick. The candy layer is usually flavored with cinnamon for a little bit of spice, but in Japan, they’re usually unseasoned.
